**Overview**
Join Vanta's mission to help businesses earn and prove trust through continuous security monitoring and verification. As a Senior Applied AI Engineer, you'll be instrumental in developing Vanta's AI capabilities, defining technical direction, and spearheading projects that harness artificial intelligence to deliver enhanced, accelerated solutions for our clients. You'll collaborate within our core AI team alongside product engineers, ML engineers, product managers, designers, and compliance specialists to build, scale, and maintain AI-driven product experiences that help customers accelerate compliance, manage risk, and build trust.

Responsibilities **
• Partner across teams to design and build AI-enhanced features that deliver customer value by integrating LLMs with Vanta's current product ecosystem • Collaborate with product engineers throughout Vanta to identify opportunities where AI can boost product adoption • Implement evaluation frameworks, safety measures, and monitoring systems while analyzing customer behavior to continuously enhance quality • Work alongside AI Platform engineers to develop core AI infrastructure and tools that empower product teams • Balance business objectives, user experience, and technical sustainability when making strategic decisions • Guide fellow engineers, promote strong technical and product judgment, and foster a collaborative, ownership-focused engineering environment

Requirements **
• Minimum 7 years of professional software engineering experience • Proven track record shipping LLM-powered products with expertise in prompting, RAG, and/or agent frameworks • Strong background designing, building, and scaling full-stack applications including backend systems, APIs, and frontend interfaces • Proficiency with TypeScript, React, and Node.js (or eagerness to learn) •
Experience enhancing AI systems, developing evaluation datasets, and driving quality improvements • Background mentoring engineers and collaborating with product and design teams •
Experience at fast-growing startups and large organizations with action-oriented cultures • Action-focused mindset with willingness to engage directly with users and adopt a product perspective
Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (full-time)
