Responsibilities As the Head of Data, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the entire data function at BetterSleep. This player-coach position involves managing a talented team of data scientists while also being directly involved in hands-on work. You'll guide the roadmap for our data infrastructure and act as a strategic data partner for product, growth, and executive leadership.
Your key tasks will include: - Leading the development and reliability of our user acquisition (UA) data pipeline, utilizing tools such as BigQuery, dbt, and Jenkins. - Driving the transition of Python transformation scripts to dbt, ensuring robust testing standards and environment hygiene. - Collaborating with engineering teams to improve data ingestion processes and maintain high data quality. - Defining and ensuring the reliability of our core metrics, including installs, trials, and customer lifetime value (LTV). - Leading our attribution strategies and supporting experimentation programs across the organization. - Creating self-service data products that empower team members to access and analyze data independently.
Requirements To excel in this position, you should have: - Proven experience in managing data teams and building data infrastructures. - Familiarity with tools and technologies related to data analytics and engineering. - A strong understanding of experimentation methodologies and statistical analysis. - Excellent communication skills to translate complex data insights into actionable strategies for both UA and executive teams.
