Company Overview
Stripe serves as a vital financial infrastructure platform for a diverse range of businesses. From leading global corporations to innovative startups, millions rely on Stripe to facilitate payment processing, enhance revenue streams, and unlock new business avenues. Our vision is to elevate the GDP of the internet, and we have a monumental journey ahead. This presents you with an exceptional chance to make a significant impact on the global economy while engaging in the most meaningful work of your professional life.
As part of the High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) team, you will play a crucial role at Stripe, where product availability is paramount. Our team is dedicated to crafting and implementing innovative solutions that ensure latency-sensitive, stateful applications remain robust against any disaster. We specialize in constructing distributed systems that thrive on unreliable architectures, delivering highly available and resilient solutions to our customers. The work we undertake today is laying the groundwork for Stripe’s architectural future for the next 5, 10, or even 20 years.
This is a fully remote team with engineers distributed across the United States and Canada. We invite you to apply if you meet the essential qualifications and are capable of working from anywhere within these regions.
In this position, you will be instrumental in shaping our global architecture by integrating less reliable components and data centers into a cohesive, highly available system. You will tackle latency-sensitive challenges where even the slightest delay is critical, and robust data redundancy is non-negotiable. Expect to rapidly gain insights and address a diverse array of issues—whether it’s exploring MongoDB write concerns, reducing cross-region TLS handshakes, or creating systems to automate disaster detection and failovers. Your contributions will empower Stripe to enhance the GDP of the internet through unprecedented uptime and data protection.
We’re eager to find candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. If you align with these requirements, we encourage you to apply. Preferred qualifications are advantageous, but not mandatory.
