NORTHWIND TRANSPORT LTD is seeking a motivated Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice to join our team in Timmins, ON. This hands-on opportunity offers comprehensive training in commercial truck and trailer repair within a dynamic transportation company. Work in varied environments including garage settings and remote locations while building expertise in heavy vehicle systems.

Responsibilities **
• Diagnose and repair commercial transport truck systems and components • Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical units to identify faults and operational issues • Test automotive systems, motors, and truck-trailer components for proper functionality • Perform routine maintenance services and adjustments to manufacturer specifications • Replace or repair mechanical units and parts as needed • Collaborate with supervisors on repair versus replacement decisions • Maintain detailed reports documenting problems identified and work completed • Review and execute work orders efficiently • Specialize in truck-trailer repair systems

Requirements **
• 1-2 year college diploma or non-university certificate • 1-2 years relevant experience in the field • Valid Class 2, B, or C driver's license • Tire, wheel and rim mechanic certification • First Aid and WHMIS certificates required • Must provide own tools and steel-toed safety boots • Reliable transportation and clean driving record • Authorization to work in Canada • Strong communication skills and attention to detail • Ability to work in dusty, noisy, hot outdoor conditions • Availability for flexible shifts including early morning, evening, weekend, and on-call work
