Overview: Clariness is actively seeking a Legal Counsel (f/m/d) to become an integral part of our legal team, with the flexibility to work from Germany or the UK. This part-time position is designed for a results-driven individual ready to support our global operations. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Global Legal Counsel and various business units to deliver practical legal insights, primarily concentrating on commercial contracts, data privacy, and the regulatory landscape of clinical research.
Responsibilities : As a Legal Counsel, you will take on a variety of tasks, including: - Drafting and evaluating commercial agreements with clients, partners, and service providers, encompassing SaaS, service, and collaboration contracts. - Reviewing contracts in English that are influenced by US legal principles. - Offering guidance on data privacy and protection matters, with a focus on GDPR and pertinent US privacy regulations. - Assisting the legal team in interpreting international clinical trial regulations and frameworks for patient recruitment. - Providing legal expertise regarding patient data processing and strategies for digital patient engagement. - Ensuring compliance with global clinical research standards such as ICH-GCP, FDA, and EMA guidelines. - Translating intricate legal requirements into practical, business-friendly solutions. - Contributing to the enhancement of legal processes through the use of AI and LegalTech innovations. - Staying updated on changes in privacy law, clinical research standards, and digital health trends.
Requirements : We are looking for candidates who possess: - A law degree or a comparable legal qualification (e.g., LL.M., Diplom-Jurist, Wirtschaftsjurist). - 2–5 years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment. - Proficiency in written and spoken English, with the ability to draft and assess legal documents effectively. -
Experience with commercial contracts in a global context. - A solid grasp of data protection regulations, especially GDPR. - Familiarity with US contract law concepts is advantageous. - Exposure to clinical research, healthcare, life sciences, or digital health is a plus. - Strong analytical and drafting abilities, coupled with a pragmatic, business-oriented approach. - A keen interest in technology, AI, and LegalTech.
