NHS is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our inpatient care team in Hamilton, ON. Responsibilities **
• Provide direct support and care to patients experiencing acute mental health challenges • Facilitate therapeutic group sessions and deliver individualized patient care • Work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment approaches • Participate in essential training programs and ongoing professional development opportunities • Maintain composure and professionalism while delivering quality care in fast-paced situations • Actively participate in ward programming, team meetings, and community outreach efforts • Foster therapeutic relationships that empower patients to actively participate in their recovery process
**
Requirements **
• Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare or comparable hands-on experience • Excellent English communication abilities, both written and verbal • Previous experience working within inpatient mental health care settings • Demonstrated capability to handle challenging behaviors with sensitivity and professionalism • Commitment to pursuing additional certifications and training as needed • Genuine passion for enhancing mental health services and patient outcomes
