RF Engineer - DAS & 5G Networks | Toronto/GTA | YRH Inc.

YRH Inc. seeks dedicated RF Engineers to join our expanding team in the Greater Toronto Area. This permanent opportunity offers the chance to work on cutting-edge cellular infrastructure projects, including potential placements with major telecom operators. Professional Engineers Ontario membership required for direct involvement in advanced 4G/5G and DAS implementations.

Responsibilities **

Reporting to the Engineering Manager or Customer Project Manager, you will: • Engineer RF solutions and distributed antenna systems for diverse environments • Conduct network analysis and define technical requirements • Execute simulations with industry tools (InfoVista Planet, IBWave, Ekahau) while establishing propagation models and network parameters • Architect passive/active DAS solutions, small cells, and micro/pico cellular systems • Calculate link budgets and plan coverage/capacity for LTE, 5G-NR, and Wi-Fi deployments • Develop specialized private networks for Industry 4.0 applications, including mining, rail, utilities, and manufacturing • Generate BOMs with CAPEX/OPEX projections • Author technical specifications and performance documentation • Design RF transmission sites and interconnection standards • Oversee network optimization and quality assurance • Conduct coverage assessments through walk-testing and drive-testing

Requirements **

• Electrical/Computer Engineering degree from accredited institution • Active Professional Engineers Ontario membership • 5-8 years RF engineering experience • Expertise in LTE, LTE+, 5G-NR, and Wi-Fi technologies • Familiarity with Ontario telecom landscape • Proficiency in modeling software (IBWave Level 2 certification preferred) • Background in cellular/DAS project delivery • Understanding of interference mitigation, Safety Code 6, microwave/fiber connections • Project management capabilities • Self-directed with excellent communication skills • Willingness to travel within GTA
