We are on the lookout for a Senior Backend Engineer (.NET) who will play a pivotal role in creating Apaleo's market-facing API, thereby transforming the future of guest interactions in hospitality.
Responsibilities As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for: - Developing the Storefront API from the ground up, establishing a robust, multi-tenant interface that facilitates communication between Apaleo and external systems, including AI-driven platforms. - Ensuring the API is scalable, reliable, and performs optimally from inception. - Overseeing the entire API lifecycle by defining schemas, implementing versioning strategies, and establishing security protocols. - Collaborating with teams to integrate with existing .NET microservices and enhancing a complex distributed architecture. - Deploying and managing services in the cloud (AWS) while utilizing Docker and containerization practices. - Partnering with AI engineers to create agent-based workflows and evolving the platform towards AI-native functionalities. - Contributing to engineering standards by establishing best practices for API design, system architecture, and code quality.
Requirements To thrive in this role, you should possess: - Extensive experience in building and managing production-grade APIs at scale. - Strong command of REST API design and architecture, along with proficiency in C# / .NET. - Proven knowledge of AWS, Docker, and infrastructure as code methodologies. - A solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems, with the ability to make independent architectural decisions. - A keen interest in AI integrations and systems. - Personal attributes including self-motivation, comfort with ambiguity, and a practical approach to decision-making.
