The Community You Will Join: The POET function is dedicated to being the Customer Champion for Payments Engineering, focusing on Flow Level Observability, Operational Excellence, and Reliability. Our goals include: - Acting as the ‘Voice of Customer’ by understanding issues that affect customer satisfaction through various channels. - Collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Partnership teams to implement ‘Root-cause fixes’. - Developing foundational capabilities and AI-driven automations that enhance productivity at scale.
The Role: We are seeking a proactive Senior Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with diverse teams across different regions. You will leverage your extensive technical expertise in building and managing large-scale platforms to enhance the availability of our Payments platform for both internal and external users. Your contributions will be crucial in developing and maintaining tools and systems that ensure reliability and scalability for Airbnb’s engineering teams.
Close collaboration with Payments engineering and Infrastructure teams will be essential to ensure our services are robust and capable of supporting our expanding business needs.
The Difference You Will Make: - Design, implement, and maintain platform-level systems and tools to support Flow level observability and Payments reliability. - Identify and drive initiatives to enhance the availability, observability, and resilience of Airbnb Payments. - Develop observability standards and frameworks for new products to ensure reliability in SOA and distributed systems. - Build domain expertise for scalability by understanding the intricacies of Payments, including processing, compliance, and infrastructure. - Lead large-scale migration and adoption projects regarding Observability and Reliability by collaborating with various Payments teams. - Champion a culture of reliability across the organization by enhancing our incident management platform.
Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (full-time)
