Founding Engineer Opportunity at Navio Logistics in Berlin

We are currently seeking a talented Founding Engineer to play a pivotal role in crafting the technical backbone of Navio. As our first engineering hire, you will collaborate closely with the CTO, taking ownership of vital systems, making architectural choices, and developing the AI-native infrastructure that fuels every shipment, workflow, and customer interaction.

Responsibilities : - Develop and manage essential product features from front-end interfaces to back-end services and data pipelines. - Design and implement AI agents and automated workflows that enhance freight operations. - Make key architectural decisions and influence the technical roadmap of the platform. - Establish integrations with carriers, logistics systems, tracking providers, and partner APIs. - Rapidly ship solutions and iterate based on genuine customer feedback and operational demands. - Scale systems from initial product development to production-ready infrastructure handling significant freight volumes. - Collaborate directly with the CTO and founders on product vision, strategy, and prioritization of the roadmap. - Contribute to defining engineering best practices, code quality standards, and future recruitment strategies.

Requirements : - Proficient in coding and leveraging AI tools, considering them integral to your development process. -

Experience d software engineer with expertise in at least one modern programming language (TypeScript, Python, Go, etc.). - Hands-on experience in building AI agents, utilizing large language models, and integrating AI into practical applications. - Familiarity with LLM profiling and evaluation, including tracing, scoring, and optimizing AI output costs, latency, and quality. - Strong backend development skills in Postgres, Redis, API design, and cloud infrastructure. -

Experience in a startup environment or similar fast-paced, high-ownership roles. - A product-oriented engineer who values user impact as much as code quality. - High-agency mindset, capable of scoping problems, making decisions, and delivering results without waiting for detailed specifications. - Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to rapid iteration cycles. - Proficient in written and spoken English; knowledge in logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding is a plus.
