Overview
Join Stripe's Controllership team as a Policy & Technical Accountant, where you'll tackle complex accounting challenges for one of the world's leading financial infrastructure platforms. This role offers the opportunity to shape accounting policies and practices for a company serving millions of businesses globally, from ambitious startups to major enterprises.
Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive technical accounting evaluations for all relevant business matters
• Build, update, and support the company's accounting policy framework and conclusions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain thorough understanding of company transactions and contractual agreements
• Partner with the Controllership organization to implement and operationalize accounting standards
• Design processes ensuring contract modifications and new transactions receive proper US GAAP treatment
• Monitor evolving accounting standards and industry best practices to maintain compliance
• Provide expert guidance on new product launches and service implementations
• Support complex accounting areas including revenue recognition, consolidations, financial instruments, foreign exchange, leases, investments, equity compensation, debt structures, and M&A transactions
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with strong academic foundation
• Extensive public accounting background, ideally including National Office experience
• Industry expertise in technology and/or financial services sectors
• Proven track record handling high-volume, complex transaction environments
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP across multiple accounting disciplines
• Strong analytical and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse business stakeholders
Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (full-time)
